SkyFlux is made for Android, iPhone and iPad. The Android version is on Google Play now; the iPhone and iPad version is on its way to Apple’s App Store. The download page shows which versions you can install today.
A subscription is managed by the store you bought it from, not inside the app. On Android: Google Play → your profile icon → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions. On iPhone or iPad: Settings → your name → Subscriptions. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
Use the same Google account (Android) or Apple Account (iPhone, iPad) that you bought it with. The app checks for your purchase when it starts; if Plus does not appear, open More → SkyFlux Plus and tap Restore purchases. There is no SkyFlux account: your purchase is tied to your store account.
To show the sky where you are. Your exact position is not sent to our servers: weather and place-name services receive only a rounded location, accurate to about 11 km. The app also works without location access — just choose a place manually.
Aurora alerts are off until you switch them on, and your phone must allow notifications from SkyFlux. There are two kinds of alert. In the last hour before sunset, you get one if the forecast says your chosen Kp level will be reached after dark tonight. Once it is dark where you are (when the Sun is more than 12° below the horizon), you get one if the forecast for the next three hours reaches your level, unless the sky is almost completely overcast.
The after-dark alert is never sent between 23:00 and 07:00 local time, within 8 hours of the previous alert, or on a night when you already had a sunset alert. If you have not opened the app for 35 days, alerts stop until you open it again.
Partly. The star map, planets, the Moon and the eclipse calendar are computed on your device and keep working in airplane mode. Weather, aurora forecasts and images of the Sun need an internet connection.
SkyFlux has no user accounts, so there is no account to delete. Switching aurora alerts off deletes the alert record on our server. Crash reports are sent only if you have switched them on, contain no identifier or location, and are deleted 180 days after the error was last seen. Uninstalling the app removes everything it stored on your device. The details are in the privacy policy.
