Terms of use
Effective 7 October 2026 · applies to the SkyFlux app
By using the app you agree to these terms. How we handle personal data is described in the privacy policy. If you installed SkyFlux from the App Store, Apple’s standard licence agreement also applies.
1. Free and Plus
SkyFlux is free to use. SkyFlux Plus adds extra planning features, listed on the SkyFlux Plus screen in the app. Plus is sold only through Google Play and the App Store, as a monthly or yearly subscription or as a one-time purchase called “Lifetime”. The store shows the price, and any free trial, before you confirm, and the store handles the payment. If you do not cancel before a free trial ends, the subscription continues as a paid one and the store charges you.
Subscriptions renew automatically unless you cancel before the renewal date. You cancel in the store: Google Play → Payments & subscriptions, or iPhone Settings → your name → Subscriptions. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription. “Lifetime” gives you Plus, including features we add to it later, for as long as SkyFlux offers Plus. “Lifetime” refers to the life of Plus, not yours. If we ever stop offering Plus, we will tell you in the app at least 30 days before Plus ends. On a new phone, sign in to the same store account: the app finds your purchase when it starts, and Restore purchases on the SkyFlux Plus screen does the same on demand. As an EU consumer you have a 14-day right of withdrawal. For “Lifetime”, which is digital content, the right ends once Plus is unlocked, but only if you asked for that and agreed when buying that you would lose the right. A subscription is a digital service: if you asked for it to start at once and then withdraw within 14 days, you pay a share of the price for the time until you withdraw. Cancelling during a free trial costs nothing.
2. Changes to the app
We may change or remove features only for a valid reason: to keep the app working with new systems, devices or data sources, when a data provider changes or ends its service, or for security or legal reasons. Changes never cost you extra. If a change has more than a minor negative effect on your use of Plus, we will tell you reasonably in advance, in the app and on this page, what changes and from which date, and you will have the rights EU consumer law gives you, including ending your Plus contract free of charge. Refunds are normally handled by the store you bought from; this does not limit your rights.
3. Safety
Never look at the Sun with the naked eye, through sunglasses (however dark), or through binoculars or a telescope without a solar filter made for them and fitted over the front. Looking at the Sun without protection can cause permanent eye damage within seconds. This is also true during a partial or annular solar eclipse and during the partial phases of a total eclipse. To look at the Sun without binoculars or a telescope, use eclipse glasses or a hand-held solar viewer; both must meet ISO 12312-2. Eclipse glasses and hand-held viewers do not protect your eyes when you look through binoculars or a telescope. The app shows when eclipses happen; it does not tell you when it is safe to look at the Sun.
The app suggests dark places but does not check whether they are safe or open to the public. Do not use it while driving or to navigate.
4. Forecasts
Sun, Moon and planet positions are accurate to about one arcminute (roughly 1/30 of the Moon’s width); comet and satellite positions are approximate, and meteor rates, aurora chances and weather are forecasts. We cannot promise that you will see what the app predicts.
5. Liability
We provide SkyFlux with care but cannot guarantee that it is always available or free of errors. We are not liable for indirect loss. Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law does not allow us to limit, or your rights as a consumer, including the legal guarantee of conformity (your statutory rights if the app is not as agreed or does not work as it should).
6. Law and disputes
Estonian law applies, without taking away the protection of the law of the country where you live. Please write to us first. You may also turn to the Estonian Consumer Disputes Committee (ttja.ee) or a court.
7. Changes to these terms
We change these terms only for a valid reason, such as those in section 2, a change in the law or a new way to buy Plus. We update this page and the date above before any change takes effect.
